Melissa Stevenson, Workforce Development Representative for the PA Department of Labor & Industry, Office of UC Services, will be presenting to HRP members on the new web-based PA Benefits Unemployment Compensation System that launched on June 8th, 2021.  This Employer Services Guide covers the functionality specific to employers, or their agents to meet the needs of the PA Unemployment Compensation system. Melissa will speak about unemployment-specific topics including self-service activities, responding to separation notices, viewing benefit charge statements, protesting charges, filing appeals, and managing mass layoffs.

Melissa is a Workforce Development Representative for South-Central PA. In this role, she assists employers and employees with their Unemployment Compensation needs by conducting presentations and seminars at local CareerLink offices. Melissa has been employed with the Commonwealth since 2001. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to Unemployment Compensation laws and regulations. Her prior positions include Bi-lingual Intake Interviewer, Monetary Interviewer, UC Examiner and UC Claims Supervisor. Melissa is a big believer in working together to get the job done and loves helping people.

This meeting has been submitted and is pending approval for general recertification credits.

This meeting will be held in person or via Zoom. Join us at 7:30am for registration, breakfast, and networking if you are attending in-person.  The main meeting and virtual meeting will begin at 8:00am.  Register for your preferred method of attendance by selecting either a virtual or in-person ticket. Please be sure to register for the meeting prior to March 21. We will be gathering at the Conference Center on the Central Penn College campus, located at 600 Valley Road, Summerdale, PA.  For easiest parking, please use Lot K. Directions and a map can be found here: https://www.centralpenn.edu/directions/.  To enter the building, use the entrance off the back patio for the Conference Center, which is located directly under the bridge. From that entrance, the conference room will be immediately to your right.
