Meeting Overview: 

Members who attend this workshop will explore the step-by-step process used at Members 1st Federal Credit Union to create Associate Resource Groups. Elyse Perry, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Associate Resource Group (ARG) Chairperson will share ideas and resources on how we build and facilitate ARG programs and embed belonging into our culture. Tim Lengel will discuss the process of creating a diversity training and manager bootcamp that highlights workplace culture and belonging. Members will engage in a series of breakout sessions to discuss achievable initiatives that can promote belonging in the workplace. A supplemental guide will be provided to attendees that includes resources for local DEIB experts, recommended books, ARG structure recommendations, and communication tips. This will be an engaging presentation that ties in personal experience and professional resources and tools that you can put in place at your company.

Meet the Presenters:

Amanda Price is an innovative and driven HR professional and CANVA guru. In 2020, Amanda began her career at Members 1st Federal Credit Union as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and soon after transitioned into a role as an Associate Engagement Advisor where she supported cultural initiatives and facilitated programs for the Women in Leadership and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Associate Resource Groups. She has successfully organized and facilitated 20 Associate Resource Group meetings to date for over 60 members. Currently, she serves as a Benefits Advisor at Members 1st, supporting well-being initiatives and health and benefit education. Amanda completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Millersville University in 2014 and her Masters degree in Human Resource Management at Saint Francis University in 2019. She also obtained her SHRM-CP certification in 2021. Amanda is currently a member of the Harrisburg Young Professionals group and she also serves on the Human Resource Professionals of Central Pennsylvania board as the Diversity and Inclusion Director. She resides in Middletown with her husband Todd and their dog Cocoa and she enjoys spending time in her creative space filming home décor videos and tips or designing personalized gifts with her Cricut machine for family and friends. 

Elyse Perry is an experienced retail manager turned HR professional who has a passion for DEI efforts. She started her HR career in Talent Acquisition and was recently promoted into an Assistant Manager role for Associate Relations at Members 1st Federal Credit Union. She holds an MBA from Webster University and recently obtained her SHRM-CP certification. Elyse currently serves as the Chairperson of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Associate Resource Group at Members 1st. She is also a member of Diversity & Inclusion Professionals of Central PA and serves on the Diversity committee for Human Resource Professionals of Central PA. Elyse and her husband reside in Camp Hill with their dog. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and trying new restaurants with friends.

Tim Lengel is a dedicated and passionate individual who has actively pursued lifelong learning throughout his career. Tim is a member of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Associate Resource group at Members 1^st Federal Credit Union and currently holds the position of Assistant Manager of Instructional Design. In this role, Tim has been involved in supporting diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. He recognizes the importance of creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all individuals. As an instructional designer, Tim has been a strong advocate for accessibility and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance. He understands the significance of ensuring that educational materials and resources are accessible to individuals with disabilities. By championing accessibility, Tim helps to remove barriers and promote equitable opportunities for all learners. Beyond his work responsibilities, Tim also dedicates his free time to his passion for music. He is a singer, songwriter, and recording engineer/producer. He works with artists across various genres. Tim resides in Marysville with his wife, Sheena, and they share their home with four cats.
