Topic: Who’s Next – Mentoring & Succession Planning
Session Overview:
Leveraging the expertise of senior HR leaders, Tannisha and Theresa will facilitate a panel discussion on the value of mentoring through a series of questions extracting their experiences. We will provide content on the differences between mentoring, sponsoring, and coaching, mentor and mentee expectations, formal vs. informal mentoring, internal and external mentoring. This will lead into further content on preparing for the expected and unexpected exits through succession planning, emphasizing the importance of intentionally recruiting both internally and through external partnerships to cultivate a robust talent pipeline. We'll explore strategies to develop, train, and support education and professional development in alignment with succession planning goals. Continuing to leverage the senior leader panel, polls, breakouts, and Q&A, the succession planning material will cover the topic around why it matters, what tools can be useful, and how to ensure you are ready for the expected or unexpected departures in your organization.
