Session Title:

How to Build a Healthier Workplace with Mental Health Benefits

Session Overview:

This presentation equips HR professionals with strategies to modernize mental health benefits and improve employee engagement with them. It explores standard and advanced mental health benefits and identifies which offerings best align with employee needs and organizational goals. Psychological safety is emphasized as essential for benefits utilization, with leadership modeling and manager training playing a critical role. The session addresses low awareness among employees, offering communication and storytelling strategies to close the gap. Best practices include assessing needs through data and piloting new programs. Tracking benefit usage, absenteeism, and satisfaction helps measure ROI and guide improvement. Ultimately, investing in mental health benefits is positioned as a strategic advantage for retention, engagement, and workplace culture. At the completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between standard and advanced mental health benefits and identify which offerings best align with employee needs and organizational goals.
  • Understand how to reduce barriers to benefit utilization by fostering psychological safety, improving communication, and training leaders to model supportive behaviors.
  • Apply actionable strategies to assess needs, upgrade offerings, and drive participation in mental health programs to improve workplace well-being and retention.
